The story
Built one specialist at a time
Amara Osei spent a decade doing editorial makeup and watching clients sprint across London between their colourist, their nail tech and their facialist. Velour was her answer: put people worth following under one roof and give them time to do their best work.
She opened in 2017 with two chairs and a kettle. Today it's nine chairs, two treatment rooms, and a team of six — a colourist, two stylists, two nail artists and a facialist — most of whom have been here five years or more.
The mews house helps. No shop-window footfall, no walk-in churn — just people who meant to come here.

How we work

No double-booking
Your slot is yours. Appointments end when the work is right, not when the timer says so — which is why we'd rather book you in properly than squeeze you in badly.
Consultation first, always
Every service starts with a conversation — photos out, expectations honest. If we think a look won't work for your hair or skin, we'll say so and offer what will.
Aftercare without the sell
You leave with care notes and the names of the products we actually used. No pressure to buy anything at the till, ever.
The space
A mews house, not a factory
Velour lives in a converted stable two minutes from Westbourne Grove — exposed brick, big mirrors, and treatment rooms with actual doors, because a facial next to a hairdryer isn't relaxing for anyone.
We keep Mondays for training. Whatever technique is taking over London this season, someone on the team already does it properly.
